First auction with shirts of the first climate neutral contest

On Friday, June 19, the first auction on our brand new auction platform will start. And how nice it is to start with an auction of the match shirts worn during the first climate-neutral match.

The soccer shirts being auctioned are from FC Dordrecht and were worn during 'the first climate-neutral match in Dutch professional soccer' between FC Dordrecht and TOP Oss. The main sponsor Keukenwarenhuis has given up its spot on the shirt specially for this match. The climate neutral match is a challenge in Dordrecht and Smart Delta Drechtsteden. The organisation wants to show that through cooperation, sustainability goals can be accelerated in the Netherlands and the world. An idea originated by Energiek Dordt.

Climate neutral means that something has no negative impact on the climate. That is the case with this match. Normally, the equipment man's tractor runs on diesel, but during this match an electric variant was chosen. In addition, it has been agreed with opponent TOP Oss that they will not travel with their bus running on diesel, but with one that runs on a fossil-free alternative. By doing this, FC Dordrecht and partners also want to use professional soccer as a popular sport to create awareness about the climate. The match is the trigger for this, but it is about what this means for the city, the region and the Netherlands.
